Writing, ideas & practical resources
Bring my published work into your conversation.
Connect a compatible AI assistant to search the full text of my writing, browse topics, read articles with source links, and find my featured book and public profile.
MCP (Model Context Protocol) is a standard that lets AI assistants connect to information and tools provided by other services.
A working demonstration of AI access
This service demonstrates how a business can make selected information available directly to customers’ AI assistants. Here, it connects you to my published writing, featured book, and public information.
What could this do for your business?
An MCP service gives customers a way to use your business information within the AI conversations they already have. They can ask a question, find relevant material, and follow the source without having to navigate every page themselves.
- Help customers find answers. Let their assistants search your product information, documentation, policies, and support resources.
- Provide useful source material. Return relevant passages and links that customers can check, helping assistants answer from your published information.
- Support business tasks. With the appropriate integrations and permissions, an assistant could check availability, prepare a quote, or book an appointment.
This website is a working example. Your assistant can search my writing, browse topics, retrieve articles, and find resources. A business could apply the same approach to its own information and services. Operational tasks such as quotes and bookings would require additional integrations; this demonstration provides public information only.
Customers need a compatible assistant and a connection to your service. Adding MCP alone does not guarantee that assistants will discover or recommend your business.
Start with a useful customer question and the information needed to answer it. That gives you a practical way to decide what your service should offer.

Connect your assistant
Add a custom MCP connection in your assistant’s settings using this address:
https://mcp.jamesburchill.com
- Open your assistant’s apps, connectors, or MCP settings.
- Choose the option to add a custom remote MCP server and paste the address above.
- Name it James Burchill and enable the connection.
No separate account with me or API key is required. Your assistant must support remote MCP using Streamable HTTP. Setup options and availability vary by application and plan. The address above is for an MCP client; opening it as a normal webpage will not start a chat.
Search the Vault

Browse topics & follow sources
Explore topics and article counts, then check source excerpts, canonical links, publication dates, and index freshness.
Discover the book
Find The Blind Squirrel Method and its free PDF download.
Find my public profile
Retrieve my published background, current work, and contact information.
Try asking
Find James Burchill’s writing about AI governance. Read the most relevant articles, summarize their ideas, and link to the sources.
- What topics does James write about? Show me the articles about AI governance.
- Find passages about approval gates and link to their original articles.
- Find The Blind Squirrel Method and its free download.
For best results, ask your assistant to search with a few specific keywords.
This connection provides published reference material. Your assistant generates its own responses; it does not speak for me or make commitments on my behalf.
Public information only
The service cannot access private files, customer records, email, or calendars, and it cannot send messages or book appointments. Public content refreshes on demand, with up to five minutes of caching.
Requests are processed on my server. The application does not retain your prompts or search terms; temporary connection information is used for rate limiting. Your AI provider’s own data policies still apply. Please do not send private information.
