You know the story. You’re sitting in a “coffee shop” (wink) enjoying your favourite beverage with a friend and the conversation goes something like this:
“I need more business. I network, I run ads, I do social media … but it all takes so much time. And the follow up calls and emails take even longer. And to top it off, the busier I get, the more time it takes and the less time I have to actually deliver the work. It’s a vicious cycle!”As a friend I usually say something encouraging and sympathetic … but sometimes (if I’m feeling a little testy) I’ll go straight for the throat and ask this:
“So what are you going to do about it?”
Mostly they look dejectedly into their beverage and say something like, “I don’t know…”
“Well I do. You need to use automation. You need to systemize your marketing and that will free up your time and allow you to accept more business.”
A brief glimmer of hope flickers across their face, “tell me more …” they say.
More beverages ensue and I explain the power of breaking the time/task trap. I talk about how you can quickly implement simple systems to automate the bulk of your marketing whether it’s social media or other ads.
I describe my simple 3 part email “flawless follow up” system and explain how no lead is ever left behind. They smile. Basically, I tell them what to do … and if they’re good friends – I explain how to do it to.
