Knol SEO is a popular new search phrase, and at the time of writing this post, I hold the #1 spot on Google for the phrase “knol seo“, and just in case Google sees fit to make a liar out of me, here’s a screen shot I just grabbed as proof :-)

Recently when I was reviewing my web stats, I noticed a new stream of traffic about SEO and SEM and this time it was coming in from over seas - the UK to be precise.

In fact I noted seo services in the UK was a popular term for my site and a bit of digging revealed partly why this was true.

Search Engine Optimization’s fundamental basis is that of getting found and getting noticed when someone asks a question. Google, Yahoo and MSN have made fortunes based on trying to understand ‘What do you want? What do you seek? What do you need?’ And so on…

And in a rather ironic twist of fate, we are not the best equipped to ask (rather phrase) such important questions and so we often type vague, ill-conceived terms and phrases into the search engine - hoping it will somehow infer our true meaning, discern our “real” intent. And for the most part - it does!
