Here’s a sneaky way to get FREE website traffic

A website without traffic is like a blunt pencil - pointless *groan*

However (bad jokes aside) a website is like any “real” store in that it needs foot traffic to sustain itself. Today I want to share one way to get traffic for free that perhaps you might not have considered recently.

But first a quick sidebar… Article and Strategic Content marketing is simply the idea of creating valuable content (words, pictures, video and audio) and then publishing it and syndicating it across the web. Actually the idea is to give the content away for free and include a bio box about your site and include a call to action with a link to visit your website.

So, there are thousands of people ‘out there’ creating articles and content and promoting their website using this method. And once the content is wild and free, there’s no getting it back.

Hold that last though because it’s the point of today’s post. Now let’s talk about domain registration for a moment. When a domain is registered, it is only registered for a set time until it expires. If the owner of the domain doesn’t renew the domain, then it will expire and become available again.

If the previous owner of the domain has been doing article and content marketing then the expired domain has additional value because those articles and content will still be driving traffic to the domain. In other words… you can register the expired domain and simply pickup all the free traffic that exists. And let’s not forget, expired domains generally don’t stand alone, expired domains may have other websites linking to them; expired domains may have a high search engine ranking.

Hmmm, food for thought. If you want to look closer at expired domains, simply use your favourite search engine and look for ‘expired domains.’ - Enjoy, and happy hunting!

Aren’t there any free software for searching expired domains?

    Great tips here.

‘Targeted traffic’ is the important term. Obviously having just any traffic is not effective.

It would be like trying to sell gas to a person who rides a bike. i.e - they would not be interested in the slightest.

Trying to find users that are interested in what your website is about or what you are trying to sell is the key to a successful website.

Picking up a domain that has already had work done to it is an easy way to get free traffic.

You should be careful - some domains could be banned from Google.
