Mobile Marketing

Just a quick note to suggest that you do a little digging and some research into mobile marketing. If you thought the ‘normal’ web was powerful, consider this – more people have smart cell phones than computers!

I’ve been tracking some exciting trends and suggest you investigate the following:

  1. Mobile commerce (m-commerce) and look at how cell phone companies are becoming the ‘new banks’ of the future…
  2. Mobile marketing (m-marketing) and see how the landscape online is changing… And NO we don’t all use the mobile web the same. Canadian usage patterns are different from Japanese usage patterns, which are different again from Europeans and so on…
  3. Augmented reality (AR) this technology makes smart phones capable of showing you ‘behind the curtain’. Better to see this for yourself than to have me try and explain it. Just google the phrase – you’ll see (pun intended.)

Let me leave you with this interesting tid-bit: Local is the #1 search on mobile phones. Yup, they’re tapping in to the geo-aware features and bringing a whole new level of benefits to the market.

The possibilities are mind boggling :)
