Subject: FEO Conference Thank You

Hi James,

I wanted to drop you a note to say how very thankful and appreciative we at Festivals & Events Ontario are that you took the time out of your busy schedule to speak at our annual conference. From all accounts, the conference was once again a successful venture and we truly believe the professionalism of our speakers, and the information they present, is the key to all of the success we achieve.

Your ‘ Blogging’ presentation was well received by everyone in attendance and I have copied the evaluation summary results below.

Once again, thank you for assisting us in our efforts to provide the Festivals and Events Industry with an annual conference where professionals can learn and enjoy networking opportunities. Please mark your calendar as our 2008 conference will be held in London February 20 – 24.

All the best,

Rob Crocock

You Could “Steal” YouTube Videos With This Free Service

Today I stumbled onto a website called www.ZamZar.com

ZamZar offers you the ability to freely convert files into different formats without downloading any software. Basically you upload the file to the ZamZar server, or provide it the URL and ZamZar converts the file into your chosen format. ZamZar then sends you an email with the newly converted file download link.

*TIP* You know YouTube streams its videos in a special Flash format… Give ZamZar the URL to your favourite video and it will convert it into WMV, MP4, AVI or any of the other chosen formats available. Great for uploading to your favourite portable video player.

You can get the entire list of available conversion formats here:

Sneaky huh? And darned handy… Not that I’m advocating stealing YouTube videos of course ;-)

You can also use Zamzar to convert and save videos from the following popular video-sharing websites:

The Best Day And Time To Send Email…

According to a new survey (by eROI, Inc.) high-level executives read most of their e-mail messages on Mondays and Tuesdays. The best time to send messages on those days: during lunch hour.

However, I had lunch with a colleague yesterday who has direct first hand experience with email marketing in the millions, and his advice: Send your emails in the early hours of Monday morning because Monday is the day when most people are planning their week and paying extra attention to messages - no one wants to miss anything important.

The outcome, for the best response send your emails on MONDAY :)

Blog Commenting Can Be Dangerous

Cross commenting on another persons blog is great for linking - just be careful. It is possible that when someone is searching for you, they may find your name on those other blogs BEFORE they find your website!

This is fine most of the time, but just consider how this might affect you if you’ve been commenting on a competitor website and their blog shows up ahead of your main listings for your name!

Consider yourself duly warned.
