People often comment on how much they like the images, graphics and clipart on my website and then they usually ask me where they might get some like it.
So during a recent web writing project I decided to bundle up the clipart I have (over 1,601 images in total - actually it’s closer to 1,900 - but who’s counting!) and make it available for download.
I’ve even added over 300 banner templates and other goodies too. Frankly this one clipart package may be all you’ll ever need for sprucing up the design of your websites, your blogs, your knols, or even your hubpages…
Google recently enabled user rating and reviews. Now a happy customer can type a shining review about your business before they even get the check! Of course… if you do something ‘bad’ to upset them - they can flame you faster than a forest fire! And by all accounts, Google includes the feedback immediately in the search results.
And I’m installing it here first. If anything weird happens and this site disappears in a puff of blue smoke, someone dial 911 (or 999 in the UK) and provide the authorities with a description
And for my clients powering their business with WordPress, I’ll be in touch shortly to arrange upgrades for you. Wish me luck, we’re going in..
Navigating a website can be challenging at best. If you’re a regular to a site like mine, you’re probably figured out how to ‘get around.’ But what if you’re new?
If this web site was a book then you could flick to the Table of Contents and easily find what you seek. The good news is that this site DOES have a table of contents, it’s called a SITEMAP and it’s available from every page on this site.
Which is better: a 100% custom website or a customized “stock” solution? I’d vote for the customized stock solution over the 100% custom solution any day. And here’s why…
I have a strong aversion to Version 1 code installs. I’d rather version 2, and 3 is better - 4.5 is better still. 100% custom coding is always V1 and first generation code sucks. It’s buggy. It’s usually incomplete. It has user interface issues. The error trapping is rubbish. It locks up. It crashes. Want proof?
It doesn’t matter how well it’s written, not everyone wants to “curl up with a good blog,” some prefer a more traditional model when it comes to reading.
Blogs are brilliant for many things, but sometimes it’s just nice to read (and study) in a more familiar format using regular sized pages of easy-to-read 12 point black text on a crisp white page (with a few colourful pictures for good measure.)
And let’s not forget the fact this blog has been my own “stream of consciousness” for over two years. Granted you can search and review the categories, and you can follow the recommended links and tags… but what about a simpler format? Well here it is…
Don’t change your email address without planning it first. Why? Because all your hard work connecting with others immediately gets placed in jeopardy and those emails you sent (which used to get delivered OK) will now face the wrath of the spam filters unless you consider the following plan…
SEO Technology Environments are a fusion of many things: keyword analysis market research, user interface design, clean coding, SEO copywriting, technology knowledge, inter-personal management skills, and a constant watch on the ever evolving landscape that is SEO and Internet Marketing.
Being found online and then getting noticed is not quite as easy as some people would have you believe. - and it’s not “a few hundred bucks,” nor is it something that happens overnight - it takes time. However, “Getting Found, Getting Noticed and Getting More Busine$$!” is possible if you follow a systematic process. And a few years ago I began developing a system to do just that, I called it TIME ™ - the Tactical Internet Marketing Environment.
This morning I was exploring my usual online haunts and for some reason a few sites would not load. After I visited a few, it seems as if they might be related so I asked (on Twitter) if anyone knew whether GoDaddy was having technical challenges - I doubted it, but it’s always worth asking.
And since I hadn’t been on Twitter today I had some catching up to do (if you want to see what I was Tweeting about you can follow me here.)
Not everyone wants to "curl up with a good blog," some prefer a good book which is why I compiled the Best of this Blog into an easy to read/print eBook.
