Are You a Smorty Pants?

No that’s not a typo, and frankly I don’t know what’s up with the name - it kind of sounds like a demented candy. But all name calling aside, Smorty is one of the newest entrants into the world of blog advertising.

Smorty.com allows advertisers to offer up incentives to bloggers encouraging them to blog about their product or service. In exchange for this the blogger will be paid. Yes, the advertisers pay, and with most forums or service brokers, Smorty gets a small piece of the action - hey, it is a business you know!

Now I’m a big believer in building link equity as part of a well rounded Internet marketing program, and having bloggers write about you while linking to your site, is an excellent way to do it.

Of course, the shoe fits nicely on the other foot too, because blogging for money is big business these days, and stay at home moms, work from home entrepreneurs, and other self employed digital ink slingers (writers) can pen their thoughts and get paid for the privilege.
